Energy Efficiency
The Alexander has an extremely good EnerGuide rating of 84. This house is a certified R-2000 and a Platinum Built Green™ house.
The house is heated with a 95.7% efficient boiler system, featuring radiant floor heating in combination with forced-air heat. Domestic hot water is also produced by the boiler. The building envelope is well insulated, featuring Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) and traditional framed construction with an air tightness test result of 1.3 air changes every hour. A high-efficiency Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) provides fresh air. The windows are all triple-glazed with low E and argon.
Outside, the Alexander boasts eye-catching front door detail and an inviting front entrance. It is designed with symmetrical contemporary styling, maintenance-free acrylic stucco, and wide overhangs with recessed lighting. The column details and foundation are stacked stone while the concrete driveway has decorative stamped edging detail illuminated with post lighting.
